This Privacy Policy describes how Thiliax ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with your use of our mobile application, VeloSwiss (the "App").
VeloSwiss is a utility application designed to function as a speedometer, trip logger, and vehicle performance tracker. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
2.1. Precise Location Data
To provide the core functionality of VeloSwiss, we collect Precise Location Data from your device.
- Purpose: Location data is collected to enable trip tracking and speed monitoring. This data is processed locally on the device to calculate real-time speed, distance traveled, and trip duration.
- Background Tracking (Foreground Service): We use a Foreground Service (indicated by a persistent Status Bar Notification) to ensure your trip continues to be recorded even if you switch to another app or lock your screen while driving.
- Privacy: We do not transmit your location history to our servers. Your ride history stays on your phone.
2.2. Motion Sensor Data
We access your device's Accelerometer and Gyroscope sensors.
- Purpose: This data is used to calculate vehicle performance metrics, including "G-Force" and "Smoothness Scores" for driving analysis.
- Processing: This data is processed locally in real-time to generate performance statistics.
2.3. Usage and Crash Data (Third-Party Services)
While we do not collect personal data, we use third-party tools to improve the stability and performance of the App:
- Firebase Analytics (Google): We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (e.g., button clicks, screen views, session duration) to understand how users interact with the App.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google): In the event of an app crash, we collect anonymous crash logs to help us identify and fix bugs.
3. Data Storage (Local First)
VeloSwiss is designed with a "Local First" architecture to maximize your privacy.
- Local Database (Hive): All trip logs, statistics, performance history, and settings are stored locally on your device using a Hive database.
- No Cloud Sync: We (the developer) do not have access to your ride history or personal location logs. We do not store your trips on external servers.
- Data Loss: Because data is stored locally, if you uninstall the App or clear the App's storage, your trip history and statistics will be permanently deleted. We cannot recover this data for you.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
We may use RevenueCat to manage and process subscription payments if you choose to purchase premium features. RevenueCat may collect data regarding your purchase history to validate your subscription status. We do not process or store your credit card or financial information directly.
5. Advertising
There are NO advertisements in VeloSwiss. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal data or location history to advertising networks or data brokers.
6. Your Rights and Control
6.1. Permissions
You have full control over the permissions granted to the App:
- Location: You can revoke location access at any time via your device Settings. However, without location access, the speedometer and trip logging features will not function.
- Sensors: You may be able to revoke sensor access depending on your Android/iOS version, though this will disable G-Force features.
6.2. Data Deletion
Since your data is stored locally:
- You can delete specific trips directly within the App interface.
- You can delete all personal data associated with VeloSwiss by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's storage in your device settings.
6.3. GDPR and CCPA
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Access/Delete: Since we do not store your personal data on our servers, we cannot provide a copy of your data or delete it remotely. You possess the only copy of your data on your device.
- Do Not Sell My Info: We do not sell your personal information.
7. Children's Privacy
VeloSwiss is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App, please note that all data is stored locally on their device and can be removed by uninstalling the App.
